TAMARI THOMPSON-KRAFT | Registered Psychotherapist

Life is unpredictable, but your response to life doesn’t have to be.

When life shatters—through trauma, loss, illness, or overwhelming stress—it can leave you feeling disoriented, broken, and alone. I understand those feelings on a personal level. In my own life, I’ve faced trauma, serious illness, and the loss of people I love deeply. I know what it’s like to wake up with a heavy heart, to feel unseen in your pain, and to wonder if things will ever feel okay again.

My passion is to walk beside people in those difficult seasons—to offer safety, understanding, and hope as you begin to rebuild. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened; it means finding a way to live with it, to rediscover peace, and to reconnect with who you are beyond the pain. Together, we’ll make space for both the grief and the growth that follow trauma, and we’ll move gently toward restoring trust in yourself and in life.

Because everyone’s path through trauma is unique, I draw from a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Play Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy—two highly effective, evidence-based treatments for trauma. These approaches help the brain and body process painful experiences, reduce distress, and make room for new meaning and emotional freedom.

I work with children (5+) and adults, creating a compassionate, individualized approach that honours your pace and your story. My role isn’t to push or fix, but to walk with you—helping you find safety, resilience, and moments of calm, even when life feels overwhelming. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

I am a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapist’s of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.

My areas of specialization include:

PTSD

Chronic Illness

Trauma
Grief and Loss
Family Conflict
Couples Therapy

What Can You Expect if You Work With Me?

I believe real healing comes from a balance of connection, safety, and evidence-based practice. My work is grounded in trauma-informed approaches that help people process painful experiences and reduce the emotional charge that keeps them stuck. Therapy isn’t about pushing through or forgetting what happened—it’s about helping your brain and body reprocess those memories so they no longer control your daily life.

In our work together, you’ll have an active role in setting your goals and determining the pace that feels right for you. I provide structure and tools to support that process, but always within a safe and collaborative environment. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, grief, or chronic stress, we’ll work to create lasting change—helping you feel more grounded, capable, and connected to yourself again.

My office is located at 151 Essa Road, right at the intersection of Essa Rd. and Anne St. It is a clean and relaxed environment shared with other therapists like myself. As you enter, there is a waiting area where you can get some water or tea.

Sessions are $170 (no tax) for 50 minutes. To reach me directly, email  tamari@lindsaytsang.com
