Grace Yeomans | Registered Social Worker & Registered Psychotherapist

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wished you were someone else?

Anxiety doesn’t always look like worry. Sometimes it shows up as irritability, overthinking, shutting down, or feeling like you have to hold everything together. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Your reactions have reasons, even if they don’t make sense yet.

You might feel stuck in patterns you can’t quite explain, reacting more strongly than you want to, or carrying a constant sense of pressure inside. Often, these ways of coping developed slowly, shaped by what you’ve had to manage or survive. These survival mechanisms helped at one point — even if they’re exhausting now.

I can offer compassion because I've been there too--I have had seasons of anxiety since I was a child. It often showed up as anger, control, sadness or low self-esteem. Living through these challenges inspired me to better understand the impact of anxiety. I became a Registered Psychotherapist to help others who are also feeling stuck.

In therapy, we make space to understand how these patterns formed and what they’re trying to protect. From there, we can work toward responses that feel steadier, more flexible, and more aligned with who you are now. Change doesn’t have to mean forcing yourself to be different — it can start with understanding yourself more clearly.

Anxiety can move in waves, shifting with life’s seasons and showing up in many forms—anger, a need for control, sadness, or self-doubt. If this feels familiar, you are not alone, I'm here to help.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the OCSWSSW. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to learn your story and walk with you through this journey.

Our individual counselling sessions move at your pace. Together we can:

What can you expect if you work with me?

I believe that the patterns keeping you stuck aren't flaws — they're adaptations. They developed for a reason, even if they are no longer serving you. My role is to support you as you unpack and retrain patterns that fit your goals. Having navigated my own seasons of anxiety since childhood — where it showed up as anger, a need for control, sadness, and self-doubt — I bring both clinical training and genuine personal understanding to this work. That experience is part of why I became a therapist, and it shapes the compassion I bring to every session.

In our work together, we'll slow down and make sense of how your patterns formed and what they've been trying to protect. From there, we build something steadier — responses that feel more flexible, more grounded, and more aligned with who you are now and who you want to be. Change doesn't have to mean forcing yourself to be different. It can start with understanding yourself more clearly. I offer virtual sessions via phone or video during weekday evenings, and I work with children, adolescents, and adults.

Sessions are $170 (no tax) for 50 minutes. To reach me directly, email grace@resetbarrie.ca
