Leah Juras | Registered Psychotherapist
I believe that healing and growth is possible.
Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined it would. If you’re navigating something painful—whether that’s the heartbreak of infertility or pregnancy loss, grieving the loss of a loved one, or feeling stuck in a difficult relationship with your body—you don’t have to face it alone.
Like many of the women I work with, I know what it feels like to struggle. As a teen and young woman, I spent years battling a mental health disorder. With the guidance of a caring therapist, I found the support, compassion, and tools I needed to heal and eventually thrive. That experience is what inspired me to walk alongside others in their hardest seasons.
After a decade of work in mental health, I've developed an approach that is gentle, collaborative, and always centered on your pace. Together, we’ll create a flexible plan that feels safe and manageable, drawing from therapeutic approaches that fit who you are and what you’re ready for.
I believe everyone deserves to feel whole, supported, and hopeful about the future. In our sessions, you’ll have a space to be heard without judgment, to explore your thoughts and emotions, and to begin practicing new ways of coping that help you move toward healing.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I draw from a wide range of modalities such as person-centered, trauma-informed, emotionally focused, attachment-based therapy. I blend CBT, DBT, ACT and other modalities to support my clients.
I support adolescents 14+ and adults who are seeking help.
Our individual counselling sessions move at your pace. Together we can:
Explore moods and thought patterns
Develop practical strategies for managing anxiety and emotions
Strengthen communication and relationships
Use evidence based tools to address mental health concerns
Practice relaxation and grounding techniques
What can you expect if you work with me?
I believe that healing is possible — even in the seasons of life that feel the most hopeless. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and always guided by your pace. Drawing from trauma-informed, attachment-based, and emotionally focused practices, I blend CBT, DBT, and ACT to create a therapeutic experience that fits who you are, not a one-size-fits-all formula.
Therapy isn't about pushing through pain alone — it's about having someone beside you who genuinely understands, and building the tools to move toward wholeness at a pace that feels safe.
I work with individuals experiencing challenges related to:
- Grief and Loss
- Body Image
- Trauma
- Anxiety and Depression
- Reproductive Trauma & Pregnancy Loss
- Women's Concerns
In our work together, you'll always have a say in what we focus on and how we get there. Some sessions are about processing — having space to be heard without judgment. Others are about identifying the patterns keeping you stuck and practicing new ways of moving through them. Whether you're carrying grief, navigating a complicated relationship with your body, or working through experiences that have been hard to put into words, my goal is the same: that you leave our work together feeling more supported, more hopeful, and more at home in yourself.
Sessions are $170 (no tax) for 50 minutes. To reach me directly, email leah@resetbarrie.ca
