Tamari Thompson-Kraft | Registered Psychotherapist
Life is unpredictable, but your response to life doesn’t have to be.

When life shatters—through trauma, loss, illness, or overwhelming stress—it can leave you feeling disoriented, alone, and unsure how to move forward. You might wake up with a heavy heart, feel unseen in your pain, or wonder if things will ever feel okay again.
Therapy can offer a place to breathe. A place where your pace is respected, and your pain doesn’t have to be carried alone. My role is to walk beside you in those difficult seasons—providing steadiness and understanding as you begin to rebuild. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened; it means slowly finding ways to live with what you’ve been through, to rediscover pieces of peace, and to reconnect with the parts of yourself that trauma may have overshadowed.
Because every person’s path through trauma is different, our work together will be shaped around your needs. I draw from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy. All of these are effective, evidence-based treatments designed specifically to help the brain and body process painful experiences, reduce distress, and create space for new meaning and emotional freedom.
I support clients 14+, treating each person with compassion and respect. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I am a registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
Our individual counselling sessions move at your pace. Together we can:
Explore patterns that may have developed out of traumatic events
Use EMDR and evidence based tools to address PTSD and more
Develop practical tools for managing anxiety and emotions
Practice relaxation and grounding techniques
Strengthen communication and relationships
What can you expect if you work with me?
I believe that healing grows from a blend of connection, safety, and evidence-based care. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed practices that gently support the brain and body in processing painful experiences and easing the emotional intensity that can keep you feeling stuck. Therapy isn’t about forcing yourself to “move on”—it’s about reshaping the memories and patterns that overwhelm you so they no longer dictate your daily life.
I work with individuals experiencing challenges related to:
In our work together, you’ll have an active voice in what we focus on and the pace that feels right. I offer structure, guidance, and practical tools, but always within a collaborative, supportive environment where your needs lead the way. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, or chronic stress, our goal will be lasting, meaningful change—helping you feel more grounded, capable, and connected to yourself again.
Sessions are $170 (no tax) for 50 minutes. To reach me directly, email tamari@resetbarrie.ca
