JESSICA CAPRA | Registered Psychotherapist Barrie

I believe your story is worth hearing.

Have you ever felt alone in your pain—like no one could really understand what you’re carrying, or that you had to hold it all together on your own?

I know that feeling. My early years were shaped by growing up in a home where there was severe mental illness, and I learned early what it means to live with uncertainty, loss, and the deep longing for stability. What helped me most were the people who showed up—the family, friends, and mentors who reminded me that healing happens in connection, not isolation.

Our mental wellness ebbs and flows throughout our lives as we navigate different challenges, losses and victories. Some life chapters are difficult to travel through, but in every season there can be moments of beauty and joy.

My experience has shaped the ways I now show up for others. It gave me compassion, inspiration, understanding and a relentless resilience. These are the qualities that I bring to my practice, giving clients space to be heard and sharing with them the tools to move forward.

I believe therapy is a space where you can finally exhale, where your story is held with compassion rather than judgment. It’s a place to rediscover your strength, to make sense of your experiences, and to remember that you are not alone in the process of becoming whole.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO, and I work with individuals 14+. My approach draws from multiple therapeutic modalities, tailored to each person’s unique needs. What Can You Expect if You Work With Me?

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, grounded space where you don’t have to have all the answers. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, we’ll move at your pace. I bring curiosity, empathy, and a deep respect for your lived experience, combining evidence-based tools with compassion and understanding. My goal isn’t to fix you—it’s to walk beside you as you find your footing, rediscover your sense of self, and reconnect with what brings you peace, meaning, and joy.

My office is located at 151 Essa Road, right at the intersection of Essa Rd. and Anne St. It is a clean and relaxed environment shared with other therapists like myself. As you enter, there is a waiting area where you can get some water or tea.
